The Daegu Suseong Police Station announced today (11th) that they had sent a dog owner A (in his 60s) on charges of abuse of animals (violation of the Animal Protection Act) by setting up an illegal fighting dog training ground.

A is suspected of building a fighting dog training ground near a mountain in Maeho-dong, Suseong-gu, and raising about 20 dogs, including pit bull terriers, for fighting dogs.

A is suspected of using a stimulant by putting a cat, rabbit, and chicken in front of a treadmill to train a dog to run, tied to a treadmill function.

In June, animal protection groups such as Catch Dog and the police arrived at the scene after receiving a citizen's report and found instruments, muscle activation drugs, and syringes that looked like treadmills.

Separately from the police investigation, the Suseong-gu Office imposed fines for 6 dogs that did not have dog insurance and 16 animals that did not register animals, respectively.
