Starbucks is voluntarily recalling a customer gift 'Summer Carry Bag', which has been controversial because of the detection of a carcinogen, formaldehyde, from today (11th).

According to the Korea Consumer Agency and the National Institute of Technology and Standards, Starbucks started to take back and compensate for the product on its own from the 22nd of last month, but it has decided to officially voluntarily recall it from today.

When an official voluntary recall is made, the operator reports the recall performance to the government and periodically checks the recall status.

It has been found that a total of 1,079,110 items of summer carry bags in question have been presented or sold since May 20.

According to Starbucks, 380,000 units, or about 36% of the total volume, have been recalled so far since it started taking self-recovery and compensation measures.

The Consumer Agency and the National Consumer Agency immediately stop using or storing the product to consumers who have the product, and contact the Starbucks recall website (www.starbucks.co.kr), customer service center (1522-3232), or email (cs@starbucks.co. kr) and the Starbucks app.

In addition, we decided to conduct a safety investigation to prevent the same case from reoccurring in the case of gifts (gifts), which may be neglected in safety management, and strengthen monitoring of similar products such as bags and curtains.

Starbucks is extending the exchange schedule, which gives you three free drink coupons when you visit a store with a carry bag, from the 31st of this month to the 11th of October, when the recall ends.

If it is difficult to visit the store, we plan to build and implement a system in which a delivery driver visits and collects a delivery request through the Starbucks mobile app.
