A 60-year-old man who murdered his wife, reported it to the police, and tried to make an extreme choice was commuted at an appeals trial.

Today (10th), the first criminal division of the Chuncheon Trial of the Seoul High Court (Chief Judge Hwang Seung-tae) broke the original sentence of 24 years in prison for Mr.

Mr. A is accused of killing his wife by wielding a knife while arguing with his wife over financial problems on September 6 last year.

According to the facts of the prosecution, on the day of the incident, Mr. A heard from his wife, "Get out of the house," along with nagging about money problems, and slapped him in the face.

The angry wife aimed a weapon at Mr. A and injured him, and Mr. A, who was enraged, committed murder.

After the crime, Mr. A reported to the police, saying, "I killed his wife," and it was revealed that he tried to make an extreme choice.

In the course of the trial, Mr. A insisted on self-defense and mental and physical weakness as in the first trial, but the court did not accept it.

However, the court of appeals accepted Mr. A's claim that the sentence was 'heavy' and reduced the sentence of 25 years in prison to 15 years in prison.

The court said, "The original trial judged the crime in this case as the third type of accusative motive murder based on the sentencing standards, but it corresponds to the second type, ordinary motive murder." There are reasons for allegations that are unfair.”

"The defendant admitted the crime at the appeals court and expressed his apology, and the fact that the victim accidentally injured the defendant's neck and committed the crime accidentally, and that the defendant surrendered, were taken into account as favorable circumstances." added.
