According to a public interest report, the fact that the Seoul Transportation Corporation employees inflated and diverted the late flight return fee returned to passengers was discovered.

According to the Seoul Transportation Corporation today (10th), the corporation released three people, including employee A, who was accused of this yesterday.

A and others were found to have embezzled 100 cases of train delay refunds at Gangnam Station on Subway Line 2 on March 24th.

'Delayed refund' is the amount returned to passengers using other means of transportation when train operation is delayed due to an accident, etc. The amount may be paid directly in cash or refunded within 7 days by issuing a confirmation of non-riding do.

On March 24, as the train was delayed due to a demonstration on the way to work by the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (Jeon Jang-yeon), employees such as Mr. A paid the delayed refund due to the protest. It was found that the amount was inflated by abusing the rule of not having to bring supporting documents.

The amount of the embezzlement was said to be less than 200,000 won.

The Transportation Corporation received a public interest report on the 28th of last month, and the next day, five people involved were rotated.

The Seocho Police Station in Seoul also received a complaint about embezzlement of late refunds on the 1st and is conducting an investigation, while the Transportation Corporation is planning to conduct an internal audit according to the results of the police investigation.

An official from Seoul Transportation Corporation said, "To prevent a similar incident from reoccurring, we are going to ban cash payment of late refunds and issue non-riding confirmation certificates.
