Currently, it is raining mainly in the metropolitan area, Gyeonggi, and northern Gangwon.

By the day after tomorrow (10th), it is expected that it will rain more than 350mm in the central region, so you need to be prepared.

In the southern regions where there is no rain, the heat wave will continue.

Rain clouds that developed over the Korean Peninsula stretch from east to west.

As the rain cloud belt, which stayed in the north until yesterday, is moving south, it is pouring rain around Gyeonggi, northern Gangwon, and the metropolitan area.

In particular, in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do and Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, where heavy rain warnings were issued, very strong rain of 50 to 100 mm per hour fell.

Until the day after tomorrow, 100 to 300 mm of heavy rain is expected in the metropolitan area, inland of Gangwon, northern Chungcheong and northern Gyeongbuk, and more than 350 mm in many places.

Heavy rain of 50 to 150 mm will also fall on the east coast of Gangwon and southern Chungcheong.

[Woo Jin-gyu/Forecast Analyst, Korea Meteorological Administration: Cold and dry air descends from the north and hot steam rises from the south, and it is expected that the stagnant front will be activated.

Because of this, a very large amount of rain is expected in the central region.]

As the rain cloud belt, which is as narrow as 30 km in width, moves north and south, pouring rain, strong localized downpours will appear here and there.

You need to be very careful as the water level in a valley or river can suddenly rise.

The Korea Meteorological Administration warned that heavy rains in North Korea could cause a sharp rise in the level of rivers in border areas such as the Imjin River and Hantan River.

In the southern provinces where there is no rain, there will be humid and hot weather with the maximum sensible temperature rising to around 35 degrees while a heat wave warning is in effect.
