is a thesis submitted by Kun-hee Kim in 1999 when she received her master's degree in art education from Sookmyung Women's University Graduate School of Education.

As a result of the self-examination of Mrs. Kim's master's thesis, the Sook University Democratic Alumni Association concluded that the plagiarism rate was over 40%, confirmed by SBS coverage.

This is the result of a two-week investigation conducted by Sook University professors and lecturers belonging to this alumni group.

The Democratic Alumni Association argued that the plagiarism rate was over 20%, so the paper should be withdrawn.

The Democratic Alumni Association said that it will announce the results of its own investigation as early as tomorrow and ask the professors of Sook University to consent to the results.

Previously, Sook University completed a preliminary research on the thesis last March, but has not decided whether to hold the main survey until five months later.

Kookmin University, which concluded that Mrs. Kim's doctoral degree was not plagiarism, continues to suffer.

Some scholars have also claimed that Ms. Kim's 2007 doctoral thesis plagiarized her own and her 2002 research thesis, and that she was the victim of plagiarism.

[Gu Yeon-sang/Professor, Sookmyung Women's University, Faculty of Liberal Arts: I knitted it.

Put what's on top of my thesis down, what's underneath on top...

I could not have imagined that the conclusion would be 'not plagiarism'.]

Education members belonging to the Democratic Party of Korea also re-visited Kookmin University and demanded the submission of data, including a report on the results of the Research Ethics Committee's investigation.

Kookmin University refused.

He said that he independently investigated whether there was plagiarism on the basis of purely the researchers, and that if there is a problem, the president will take responsibility.

[Lim Hong-jae/President of Kookmin

University: I hope that the content of the (plagiarism or not) judgment will be respected and I sincerely hope that the thesis verification process and judgment will no longer be used as a means of dispute.]

Controversy is expected to continue as it announced that it would hold an emergency general meeting to discuss official measures to respond to the decision of the Kookmin University Research Ethics Committee.
