"Given the injuries observed on the victim, (...) her husband, aged 35 and present during the rescue operation, was placed in police custody in the morning. An autopsy of the victim is scheduled for Thursday at the forensic institute of Tours.
The husband was already known to justice for traffic offenses, but not for violent offenses, said the prosecution.
Four children placed with child welfare
