In a new apartment building in Gangnam, Seoul, there was an accident where the marble finishing material on the wall fell from a height of 4 to 5 meters.



According to the real estate online community on the 1st, a resident report was received at the management office about 10 am on the 31st of last month that four marble finishing tiles installed on the wall of the first floor in a building in the Gaepo apartment building in the city of Ilwon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul fell.



The tiles are said to weigh up to 30 kg per sheet.



The marble tiles were shattered as they fell on the common area on the second basement level, where the occupants passed. 



In the photos of the accident site, fragments of broken tiles were scattered all over the floor, and concrete was exposed in the space on the wall where the tiles had come off.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but when an accident occurred in a large-scale apartment built by a large construction company within a year of moving in, residents' anxiety is growing.



It is known that the building in which the accident occurred was constructed by Hyundai E&C.



Hyundai E&C said, "Currently, representatives of the tenants, the CS team in charge of after-sales service, and officials from the contractors who built it are discussing the cause of the accident and the future schedule."



DH Zai Gaepo, a reconstruction of Gaepo Jugong Complex 8, is a large-scale apartment complex with a total of 1,996 households, with 15 buildings from 4 basement levels to 35 stories above ground.

This apartment was jointly reconstructed by Hyundai E&C (40% stake), GS E&C (33% stake), and Hyundai Engineering (27% stake), and Hyundai E&C took charge of the construction.

The sale price per 3.3㎡ was 41 million won, and they started moving in on July 31 last year.
