On the morning of the 28th, dead tuna (tuna) was washed out by the waves at Jangsari Beach in Namjeong-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Today, the tuna collected by Yeongdeok-gun and its residents alone amounted to about 1,000.

As the tuna decayed, it smelled and looked bad, so all the passers-by frowned.

This tuna was thrown away by fishermen who were fishing with a political net off the coast of Yeongdeok.

The net is a trap gear with a rim and a funnel device in a bag-shaped net so that it is easy for fish to enter but difficult to get out.

According to Gyeongsangbuk-do and Yeongdeok-gun, the amount of tuna that can be caught is set according to international agreements.

Violation of this rule is punishable by imprisonment for not more than two years or a fine of not more than 20 million won according to the Fisheries Act.

The problem is that, due to climate change, the water temperature rises and the ocean currents change, so tuna, which is rarely seen in the East Sea, is recently caught in large quantities.

The 74.4 tons of political nets allocated to Gyeongbuk this year have already been fully captured.

As a result, the province has banned political net fishermen from catching tuna from 00:00 yesterday.

However, fishermen have to pull up their nets to check the catch, so it is difficult to catch the tuna from the beginning.

For this reason, recently, fishermen engaged in net fishing are catching large amounts of tuna and dumping them into the sea.

However, most tuna are thrown away dead because they do not live long when they are caught and out of the sea.

Dead tuna sank into the sea, but as it decays, it rises and is washed ashore with waves.

From what Yeongdeok-gun found out, about 10 political net fishing boats dumped the recently caught tuna at once.

It is estimated that they discarded 13,000 sheep alone.

Some voices are concerned about pollution as this situation could be repeated throughout the second half of the year.

Resident A (67) said, "Since early this morning, tuna has been washed up on the beach and is being collected."

Yeongdeok fishermen are constantly demanding that the catch limit be increased.

A military official said, "If you exceed the limit, you can't bring even one on land."
