Prosecutors searched and seized an incumbent prosecutor who is suspected of leaking investigation secrets to the Ssangbool Group in connection with the case of lawmaker Lee Jae-myung's payment of attorney's fees.

The Suwon District Prosecutor's Office's Criminal Division 1 recently executed a search and seizure warrant for the office of Investigator A, who belonged to the 6th Criminal Division of the same Prosecutor's Office, and the PC and mobile phone he used.

The 6th criminal division of the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office was the investigation department for the alleged payment of attorney's fees. Earlier this month, the office of the Ssangbool Group and the office of Lee Tae-hyung, a lawyer in Lee's violation of the Public Official Election Act, were seized and searched.

In the process of data analysis after the search and seizure, investigation materials related to the allegation of payment of attorney fees generated by the investigation team of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office were found, and it is said that the prosecution considers Investigator A as a potential leaker of investigation data.

Prosecutors appointed Investigator A to a non-investigation department and started inspection, but Investigator A is known to be denying the allegation of leaking investigation data.

It is known that the prosecution has also placed the link between Investigator A and the Ssangbangbang Group on the investigation line in order to identify the exact route of the leak of investigation data.

Prosecutors are reviewing ways to request an arrest warrant if they have evidence that Investigator A was directly involved in the leak of investigation data.
