The Board of Audit and Inspection announced today (26th) the results of an audit on illegal real estate transactions using LH's inside information and violations of the Farmland Act by LH and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport employees.

This is the result of a public interest audit request filed by the Solidarity for Participation after allegations of speculation in the 3rd new city by LH employees surfaced in March of last year.

The Board of Audit and Inspection commissioned 25 additional investigations during the audit process from May to July of last year, excluding LH executives and employees who are already under investigation by the police.

The Board of Audit and Inspection reviewed all 106 public housing districts in which LH was involved from 2016 to April 2021, and the allegations of real estate speculation using undisclosed development information were particularly focused on eight LH employees.

Similar cases were also found in Daejeon, Jeonbuk, Daegu, and Gyeongnam regional headquarters.

All of the land adjacent to the development area was purchased, and the distance from the development site ranged from a minimum of 50m to a maximum of 500m.

In addition, there have been cases in which LH's land purchase rights were used to illegally purchase land and then sold it back to an acquaintance to make a profit.

Mr. B, who worked at the LH Gangwon headquarters in 2015, bought the land relatively cheaply through LH and sold it to his acquaintances, and the acquaintances who bought the land sold it back to the private company, earning a profit of 610 million won. took money with

In the process of LH's purchase of the land, Mr. B even bought and reselled the land through a settlement process without the president's approval of the sale plan and consultation with colleagues.

In the process, he also manipulated LH's justification for land purchase by having his acquaintances file complaints.

In connection with the alleged illegal acquisition of farmland, 10 LH employees, 5 employees of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and 2 civilians were caught.

The Board of Audit and Inspection requested the dismissal of employees caught using undisclosed information such as Mr.

The Board of Audit and Inspection also pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs did not establish a plan to investigate the current state of farmland in relation to the violation of the Farmland Act.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry was pointed out by the Board of Audit and Inspection, and in July last year, it created an operating guideline for the survey on farmland use.
