Today (26th), the number of new corona cases is expected to approach 100,000.

Amid the strong re-spreading rate, an additional confirmed case of BA.2.75 mutation, which is known to have the strongest transmission power, was confirmed.

It is the fourth patient in Korea and is believed to be the first community infection.

As of 9 p.m. last night, the number of new confirmed cases of COVID-19 is about 94,000.

It has surpassed 90,000 in 97 days since April 19th.

The number of new confirmed cases in the interim count increased by about 1.3 times from one week ago and by about 2.6 times from two weeks ago.

The number of new confirmed cases per day, counted until midnight and announced this morning, is expected to approach 100,000.

The fourth BA.2.75 confirmed case in Korea was confirmed on the 13th.

At the time of the second patient's entry, there were several contacts from the airport.

Although he is in his twenties with a foreign nationality, this is the first case of regional spread in Korea.

Additional close contacts are under investigation.

The quarantine authorities are monitoring not only direct transmission, but also hidden transmission.

The first and third patients confirmed on the 11th and 19th did not go abroad, so they were infected from someone in Korea.

However, it belongs to hidden transmission because it cannot find an infection link.

All four domestic BA.2.75 patients had mild symptoms and received the third dose.

As it is expected that it can be difficult to prevent infection with existing vaccines, the need for new vaccines is growing.

A new bivalent vaccine for mutagenesis has been developed by Moderna and Pfizer.

Pfizer has 6.3 times more neutralizing antibodies against BA.5 than existing vaccines, and Pfizer has applied for approval in Europe, and Moderna in Europe, Australia, Canada and Korea.

Moderna said that it expects to receive domestic approval around September 10, and plans to supply foreign-produced products first and then domestic consignment products.
