A daycare teacher who physically abused a 5-year-old child was sentenced to probation.



On the 24th, the Cheongju District Court's 2nd Criminal Division (Chief Judge Ahn Jae-hoon) announced that a childcare teacher A (53), who was charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes, was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and 3 years of probation. I did.



Person A was handed over to trial for physically abusing group B (5) a total of 21 times from February 1 to 24 last year at a daycare center in Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. 



Mr. A repeated the act of lying in the hallway or auditorium, holding the feet of group B, and dragging him to the classroom several times.



In addition, when group B hit other children or harassed Mr. A, it was investigated that he inflicted physical abuse 21 times, such as hitting the back of his hand and stepping on his foot.



Mr. A protested that his actions were for safety accident prevention and disciplinary purposes, but the court did not accept these claims.

The court said, "Even though the accused continued to abuse the child, he denied the crime and did not reflect on it."



However, he said, "It seems that bad feelings have accumulated while guiding the victimized children for the sake of order." He added, "It is not fair to only impose severe punishment on childcare teachers who work in poor treatment and environment. I have decided on the sentence,” he explained, explaining the reason for his sentencing.
