Daewoo Shipbuilding's subcontractor union and representatives of subcontractors resumed negotiations from 8 am.

Earlier, both sides of the labor and management started marathon negotiations from yesterday morning until 1 am today, past midnight.

At one point yesterday evening, anticipation for a dramatic settlement was raised.

This is because it has been reported that the company has narrowed the scope of the wage increase to 4.5%, and that they are gathering opinions not to ask for compensation for damages to business partners.

However, the two sides could not resolve their differences.

Although there was a broad agreement on wages and damages, there was no detailed coordination.

In addition, it was reported that there was a big difference of opinion on the issue of employment succession for workers of partner companies that have closed their business.

At one time, there was an observation that a provisional agreement would come out overnight, as the union went to the place where the bosses of partner companies met and said that they wanted to co-exist.

Separately, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), the principal contractor, is in a position to hold the union responsible for an additional 700 billion won in losses, so the union, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering are also discussing another.

Starting tomorrow, most of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering's employees will go on a two-week summer vacation.

So, if the negotiations are not completed by today, there is a possibility that the power of the subcontracted union occupation and siege may decrease, so today is a watershed in the negotiations.
