A TikTok video parody of the recently popular drama 'Strange Lawyer Woo Young-Woo' sparked a 'controversy over mocking people with disabilities', and the video producer explained it.

Yesterday (the 18th), a TikTok channel posted a video showing her husband setting a table for her husband and inviting him to eat, along with the caption, "Strange wife 000."

In the video, a woman imitates the tone and expression of Woo Young-woo (Park Eun-bin), who appears as an autism spectrum disorder lawyer in the play, and reproduces the lines in the drama.

Netizens who saw this expressed their displeasure, saying that parodying 'a character with an autism spectrum' is a caricature and mockery of the disabled.

As the controversy continued, the video producer said, "There seems to be a lot of people who feel uncomfortable, but I respect everyone's opinions." "I don't think it's fun to criticize autism symptoms. And we also made it with that intention.”

He added, "If we made a comical caricature of the autism symptom itself, even our subscribers would not have tolerated it.

However, netizens commented, "We call it a 'caricature' to imitate the socially weak because they are cute or lovable", "It's really the worst that there is no least shame", "The explanation is so sophistry", "Why do people with disabilities Do I have to be cute and lovely?” and “You mocked me in a friendly and loving way” and so on.

Meanwhile, in an interview with actress Park Eun-bin, who was posted on Netflix's official SNS today (19th), Park Eun-bin was asked, "I wonder how Woo Young-woo spoke, walking posture, etc." I excluded the video reference altogether. I was studying according to the diagnostic criteria, so I don't think I've ever practiced in particular."
