On a beach in Samcheok, Gangwon-do, a huge structure of unknown identity has been left unattended for nearly a year.

The business came to a halt while the relevant organizations were fighting over who manages it, and it looks bad and safety is a concern.

From sand art to colorful parasols, the summer atmosphere was created to the fullest.



But in the middle of the sea, a huge structure out of the blue.



It is made of steel and cement located 300 meters away from the white sandy beach, and it looks dangerous at first glance.



An unsightly and dangerous structure is left unattended in the future at the breakwater next door.

Since 2018, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has been working on the third phase of the East Sea Port development project to reduce erosion of the surrounding coast, but the construction has now been halted.



Construction of this facility started in August last year with an investment of KRW 25 billion, but this is because there was a disagreement between the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and Samcheok City over the future management entity and cost.



Samcheok City will take charge of the management, but the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries is responsible for the cost, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries argued that it could not be accommodated.

Without narrowing the gap, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries deleted the construction management plan for this year and cut the budget by 12 billion won.



The city of Samcheok delivered a position to bear the management fee, but only the residents and tourists who were expecting a summer special because they did not know when the construction would resume.
