The body of an infant was found near the Imjingang Unification Bridge in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and the police launched an investigation.



According to the police, the body of a male infant was found at the army base at around 7 am today (16th) near Imjingang Unification Bridge in Munsan-eup, Paju-si, in the direction of Jayu Bridge.



Firefighters responded to the report and rescued the body from the free bridge around 8:30 in the morning.



The naked body was in a state of considerable decomposition, and as a result of an autopsy, it was estimated that he was around 9 months old.



The police are planning to request an autopsy of the body to the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death.



Previously, the bodies of children were found in the tidal flats in front of Gyodongdo, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon on the 2nd, and at the estuary of the Han River in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 5th.



Both bodies were wearing unlabeled clothing, and it was understood that there were no related missing reports.



The authorities are investigating the possibility that the bodies may have been washed away from North Korea.
