A man in his 50s who stabbed and killed his wife on suspicion of having an affair was also sentenced to the same severe punishment as the first trial at the appeals court.



Criminal Division 6-2 of the Seoul High Court (Chief Judges Jung-Ryeong, Kang Kyung-Pyo, Won Jong-Chan) sentenced A (58), who was charged with murder, to 18 years in prison, the same as in the first trial.



The court said, "While interrogating him for vague suspicion that he had committed an affair, he could not control his anger and stabbed the victim to death," the court said.



He continued, "From about 20 years ago, I used domestic violence against my spouse and children for a long time, and it seems that the intensity of the crime grew stronger and reached this time." The situation is not good.”

Previously, Mr. A was charged with killing his wife B by swinging a knife in a parking lot near Gyeongin Ara Waterway in Seo-gu, Incheon around 2 am on October 29 last year.



It was investigated that he had asked a passerby, "I killed a person. Please report it," to a passerby while carrying Mr. B, who died after the crime, in a vehicle.



The police rushed to the scene after receiving the report and immediately arrested Mr. A, and found Mr. B dead in his car parked nearby.



Person A was found to have committed the crime while secretly looking into Mr. B's cell phone the day before the incident and arguing over suspicion of an affair when he saw a wrongly delivered message.
