A man who stole a customer's cell phone next to the cafe and ran away was caught and arrested by the police at the scene of the crime.



The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced today (12th) that they arrested A, who was accused of running away with a cell phone (theft) from a cafe in Gwanak-gu, Seoul around 4 pm on the 26th of last month through its official Facebook page.



According to the posted video, Victim B, who was in the cafe at the time, left his cell phone on the table and left for a while.

Meanwhile, Mr. A, who was sitting next to Mr. B, ran away with Mr. B's cell phone on the table.



After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and found a man passing by through the window while identifying the criminal's impression of the criminal in the CCTV video and securing the victim's statement.

The police, thinking that the criminal's impression clothing in the CCTV and the man's impression clothing were similar, ran away, identified Mr. A near the crime scene and arrested him on charges of theft.



As a result of the investigation, it was found that A was passing near the crime scene by mistakenly thinking that B's cell phone was a wallet, but when he ran out of cash, he threw his cell phone away at a nearby household goods store.
