The prison sentence of a partner who stole 2 billion won worth of company money from the company run by comedian Heo Kyung-hwan has been confirmed.

The first part of the Supreme Court confirmed the lower court sentenced to two years in prison in the appeals trial of 42-year-old A, who was charged with embezzlement, forgery of securities, forgery of private documents, and fraud under the Special Act.

Person A was accused of stealing a total of 2.73 billion won in company funds from 'Heo Chicken', a food distribution company that Mr. Heo was the CEO of between 2010 and 2014.

It was investigated that Mr. A, who was in charge of the audit position at the company, was responsible for managing the actual company and controlling the execution of funds by keeping the corporate passbook, seal and seal, and Mr. Heo's seal.

It turned out that he often took Heo Chicken's funds whenever he needed money for a separate company he was running.

The number of confirmed account transfers alone amounted to about 600 in total.

There are also allegations of forgery of an alcoholic beverage supply contract with Mr. Heo's name, or borrowing 100 million won from Mr. Heo to help him pay taxes and not returning it.

The first trial found A guilty of all charges and sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months in prison.

The appeals court also admitted the guilty verdict of the first instance, but reduced the sentence to two years in prison in consideration of the fact that Mr. A returned part of the embezzled money and deposited 300 million won in the court.

Person A, who was tried without detention, was arrested by the court of the second trial.

The Supreme Court affirmed the guilty verdict as it was, noting that there were no problems with the second instance judgment, such as misunderstanding of the law.
