In the appeals trial of rapper Noel (real name Jang Yong-jun), who was sentenced to one year in prison in the first trial for refusing to comply with a request for a breathalyzer and assaulting a police officer, the prosecution requested the court to sentence him to three years in prison.

At the trial held today (the 7th) at the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Court Division 4-3, the prosecution requested a three-year prison sentence for Mr.

Prosecutors said, "I committed the same crime again during the probation period, and the crime situation is poor."

The prosecution applied Jang to the charge of violating the Road Traffic Act, not the Yun Chang-ho Act, as the Constitutional Court recently ruled that the Yoon Chang-ho Act was unconstitutional, but the sentence was the same as in the first trial.

In his final statement, Mr. Jang said, "I am so ashamed and have no excuses for my mistake.

He added, "I started my social life early, and I became dependent on alcohol to relieve stress, pain and wounds, and I did things I shouldn't have done.

The appeals court is scheduled to hold a sentencing hearing on the 21st of this month.

Jang Je-won, the son of Rep. Jang Je-won, was driving a car at the intersection of St. Mary's Hospital in Seocho-gu, Seoul around 10:30 pm on September 18 last year and had a collision with another car.

Jang was arrested and indicted in October last year on charges of refusing to comply with a police officer's request for a breathalyzer at the scene and hitting a police officer with his head.

Previously, in 2019, Jang was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and 2 years of probation in June 2020 for being charged with driving a car while drunk in Mapo-gu, Seoul and collided with a motorcycle.
