An animal with a pointed face, big ears, and a long tail wanders through the forest.
It is a Class 1 endangered wild animal, the red fox.
However, this fox appeared in Haeundae Dalmaji Pass, which is a city center and also visited by many tourists.
[Shin Byeong-ryun / Witness: I saw a lot of locals while I was going out. I wanted to see something, and I saw something that wasn’t even a dog, so it had a long tail…

One of the specimens released by the National Park Research Institute into Sobaeksan last year, a 2-year-old male.
The route of movement was also confirmed through the location tracking device that was attached to the neck.
After moving from Sobaeksan Mountain to Donghae-si, Gangwon-do, it came down to Busan along the sea road, and the travel distance alone is 400km.
[Won Hyuk-jae / Director of Central Conservation Center, National Park Research Institute: Foxes have a habit of moving long distances.
The second seems to have moved to Busan for food or curiosity.]
Currently, cat moms have been feeding chickens and other food since they found the fox.
[Cat Mom: Oh, I eat well.
my baby is nice
Let's eat and be strong.
Let's do our best and go home.]
The problem is, here at Dalmaji Pass, there is a road over the promenade and a train running on the beach below.
There is a risk of roadkill.
Therefore, officials from the Park Research Institute also started to capture it, but it is not easy.
[Jongnam Lee/Ecologist: (Fox) is very sensitive to smells.
When it smells like iron bars, especially foxes are more suspicious, so they don't fit into that mold easily.]
Red foxes are rarely aggressive, but they are alert, so it's better to refrain from feeding them.
It is also important to avoid running into pets.
