Yesterday (6th), we reported exclusively yesterday (6th) of the suspicion that former and current police officers made a so-called cut-off reservation at the golf course, and when the investigation began, the superiors were trying to cover up.

Continuing today, I will focus on the content that other police officers tried to convince the investigator who was investigating the case.

First, let's listen to the recording file we obtained.

This is the exclusive report by Park Chan-beom.

<Reporter>

Around mid-May, when the New Seoul CC golf course investigation was in full swing.

Sergeant Kim Seong-hoon, the police investigator in charge, receives a phone call.

This is Inspector A whose name appears in the reservation status file for the company's ownership of the 3-year golf course obtained by SBS.

[Captain A: I'll ask you straight up.

What is a golf course?]

[Sunghoon Kim/Sergeant Major: A golf course?

There is a case, but it is a case that came under the Solicitation and Graft Act.]

Inspector A convinces Sergeant Kim to remove himself from the investigation.

[Captain A: Please secure my name.

Quietly cover up your brother's name.

Now, in this situation, if I get into gossip again...

]

He says the so-called 'clearing reservation' has become a custom among police officers.

[Inspector A: To be honest, all the brothers and sisters do it.

When the chiefs and managers make a reservation (booking), they all make it to those people (golf course staff).]

Other golf courses in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do also made reservations for this cut-off, and he confesses that he acted as a 'window'.

[Inspector A: I, too, honestly made reservations (bookings) for not only New Seoul (CC golf course) but also (Gyeonggi) Gwangju golf courses elsewhere.]

Around the same time, another police officer B who asked Sergeant Kim the status of the investigation.

When he asked whether the city hall officials were investigating, he said that he himself had taken on the job of making reservations for the police officers on behalf of the police officers.

[Sergeant B: I heard about the New Seoul (CC Golf Course)-related case, but I used to go to the police station for reservations (booking) and I was in charge of reservations (booking) for 5 years

] said to have been involved.

[Seong-Hoon Kim/Sergeant: First of all, you can see that most of the managers and chiefs who play golf quite well are related.]

They seem to have used a pseudonym during the cut-off reservation process.

[Kim Seong-hoon / Sergeant: I thought that it was quite a problem to infringe the rights and interests of (public officials) members and use the government’s taxes for their own interests.]

Inspector A and Officer B explained to SBS reporters that he had never acted as a window to make cut-off reservations for high-ranking police officers.
