Today (1st), all beaches across the country, except for parts of the east coast of Gangwon, were opened all at once.

This summer is different from last year when I had to wear a mask even at the beach, but a reporter is out in Haeundae, Busan.

Reporter Hong Seung-yeon, it's getting dark, but do you see a lot of people behind you?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is night, but here in Haeundae, Busan, the heat does not cool down during the day, but the humidity is high and the sensible temperature is over 30 degrees.

The beach is open, but night swimming after 6pm is prohibited.

Because of this, you can see the citizens cooling off from the heat while walking on the beach at this time.

Starting today, about 260 major beaches across the country, including Haeundae in Busan and the East Sea, Namhae, and West Sea, have started to open.

Unlike last year, this year, you can enjoy swimming without wearing a mask at the beach.

As there are a lot of people, we have to pay attention to safety accidents and quarantine. How are we preparing?

<Reporter>

Yes, even this holiday season, compared to before Corona, it is expected that vacationers will flock to domestic tourist destinations and beaches rather than abroad.

Each local government has significantly increased the number of safety personnel and 119 water rescue teams at major beaches.

[Seongcheol Kim / Head of Beach Operation Team, Haeundae Tourism Facility Management Office: This summer is expected to increase the number of vacationers.

From July, up to 100 security personnel will be deployed.

There are a few things to be aware of.

As there are signs that the recent Corona 19 will re-emerge, you must keep a distance of at least 1m from other people even on the beach, and wear a mask when using multiple indoor facilities such as toilets and management offices.
