A teenage brother who killed ducks living in a river by throwing stones has been arrested by the police.



The Seoul Dobong Police Station announced yesterday (23rd) that they are investigating two teenagers on charges of violating the Wildlife Protection and Management Act.



The brothers are accused of killing a duck by throwing stones at 6 ducks, including 1 adult female mallard duck and 5 chicks, several times while riding an electric kickboard on the 13th.



The two appeared at the scene on the 16th as well and threw stones at the duck, but it is known that they escaped without being able to kill the duck due to a report from a nearby citizen.

Afterwards, the police posted warning signs at the location of the incident and advised them to surrender.

Dobong Police Station's Intelligent Crime Investigation Team, who was in charge of the case, said, "Please read the people who killed ducks by stoning here."



After disclosing his contact information, he said, "If you contact me (at the police station) and attend voluntarily, I will accept you by surrender. I wrote down.



However, they did not appear in the end, and the police investigated CCTV and caught the brother at 5 pm on the 22nd at his residence in Dobong-gu.

They are said to have stated, "I did it out of curiosity," and "I didn't know it would be a crime" during the police investigation.



A police official said, "This brother can be punished because he is not a juvenile (10-13 years old).



According to the Wildlife Protection and Management Act (Article 68), killing a wild animal without justifiable grounds may be punished by imprisonment for not more than three years or by a fine of not less than 3 million won and not more than 30 million won.
