The rainy season has begun across the country as low pressure raises the rainy season front.

The rainy season usually starts on June 23 in the southern region and on June 25 in the central region. The rainy season in the central region this year is two days earlier than usual.

The first monsoon rain fell on Jeju Island on the 21st.

As the low pressure develops the rainy season front, it is expected that a large amount of rain will fall from the first rainy season.

It will rain 30~100mm in most parts of the country and 10~60mm in Yeongdong, Gangwon and southern Gyeongbuk.

Locally, there will be areas with heavy rainfall of 120 mm or more in the metropolitan area, Yeongseo, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk, and 150 mm or more in Jeollanam-do and Jeju Island.

In the metropolitan area and Yeongseo, rain is expected from this afternoon to night, and in Chungcheong and southern provinces tonight and tomorrow morning, heavy rain is expected.

Accordingly, the heavy rain advisory issued in Seoul, northern Gyeonggi, and northern Yeongseo will gradually expand to Chungnam and Honam.

It can rain 30-50mm per hour accompanied by gusts of wind and lightning.

Most of the rain in the central region will stop tomorrow morning, and the rain will continue until Saturday in Jeollanam-do and the southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do until Sunday in Jeju Island.

Outside of Jeju Island, hot and humid weather is expected on the weekend, free from the influence of the rainy season.
