The body of a 57-year-old man was found cut up on June 1 near Ille-sur-Têt, in the Pyrénées Orientales.

The victim, who could be identified, had left his home by bicycle to go to Thuir, about fifteen kilometers away.

The circumstances of his death have not been specified and an investigation has been opened.

It was a 57-year-old man, who left by bicycle from his home in this village to go to Thuir, about fifteen kilometers away.

A murder investigation

A murder investigation was opened immediately after the discovery of the body in a steep area, not far from the tourist site of the Organs of Ille-sur-Têt.

The Perpignan public prosecutor's office did not give any information on the circumstances of the death.
