The bereaved family of an official of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, who was shot and killed by North Korean soldiers in the West Sea two years ago, filed a complaint with the prosecution against the Blue House officials of the Moon Jae-in government.

The bereaved family urged the investigation into the truth, saying that it is suspected that the government overlaid the North Korean frame at the time of the instructions of the Blue House officials.

On the morning of the 22nd, the bereaved family of the late Lee Dae-jun, who was a civil servant in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of the execution of official duties.

In 2020, officials at the Blue House interfered with the Coast Guard investigation and gave unfair instructions to announce that Mr. Lee appears to have fled North Korea.

The bereaved family said, "Strict punishment is absolutely necessary for those who distort the truth."

At the time, officials at the Blue House also insisted on making a declaration of conscience.

He also requested the disclosure of information on related documents sealed as presidential records, but he said that if he refuses, he will also file charges against former President Moon Jae-in.

While the political battle over the shooting of a public official in the West Sea continues, the prosecution is expected to start an investigation as soon as the appointment of the prosecution is completed early next month.

In particular, as voices are raised that it is necessary to read the data of the previous government's Blue House, which was designated as a presidential document during the investigation process, in order to find out the truth, there is also a prospect that the prosecution will form a special investigation team.

Prosecutors have perused the presidential records by executing a search and seizure warrant issued by the Chief of the Seoul High Court at the time of the investigation into the alleged destruction of the inter-Korean summit minutes and the Sewol ferry disaster.
