A woman in her 30s has been sentenced to a severe sentence for killing a cohabiting man with an intellectual disability by beating him several times with a self-defense device.

The 11th criminal division of the Cheongju District Court (Chief Judge Kim Seung-ju) announced today (22nd) that A (32), who was charged with murder, was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Mr. A was handed over to trial for killing B (31), who was living with her at her home in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, last February by wielding a triple pole for self-defense.

Person A was investigated for habitually assaulting Person B, who is a grade 3 intellectual disability, using a cigarette or a weapon.

After leaving the dead body of B for over a month, A went to a nearby district office in March and surrendered, saying, "I killed my boyfriend."

The court said, "The method of the crime is cruel and there is no minimum respect for the victim's personality." .

However, the court ruled that "the sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that the accused admitted and is reflecting on the murder, has no criminal record, and is pregnant with the victim's child."
