A 50-year-old man accused of installing illegal cameras in the bathroom of a female employee at an elementary school was also sentenced to prison in the appeals court.

Suwon High Court Criminal Division 3 (Chief Judge Kim Seong-soo) today (22nd), former elementary school principal A (57) rejected the appeal.

The court stated, "The defendant is reflecting on the reason for the sentencing, but considering the fact that this crime has damaged the respect and trust that members of society have in educators, we will not accept the defendant's claim that the sentence of the lower court is unfair."

Mr. A was charged with entering the school female faculty restroom on October 26-27 last year and placing a toilet paper box with a small camera installed on the toilet.

She is also accused of filming the body parts of faculty members by secretly setting up a mobile phone with video recording mode turned on under the conference table 21 times between June and October of the same year.

A's crime was caught when a faculty member who was trying to use the bathroom found a camera installed in a tissue box.

At that time, the faculty member reported this to the principal, but it turned out that the principal refused to report it for reasons such as 'what would you do if the student was the culprit?'

The police, who responded to the report and rushed to the scene, were suspicious that Mr. A was passive in reporting despite being a school administrator, so after an interview, he confirmed the crime and urgently arrested Mr.

It was confirmed that several videos suspected of being illegally filmed were found on Mr. A's cell phone.

A is said to have stated, "It is true that the camera was installed, but there was no sexual intent."

Earlier, the lower court said, "Even though the defendant was a school principal, he betrayed the trust of teachers and students, and when the crime in this case was discovered, the circumstances after the crime were not good, such as damaging evidence to cover up the case." , taking into account the fact that I have worked diligently as an educator,” he was sentenced to two years in prison and one year of suspension of qualifications.

He also ordered 40 hours of sexual violence treatment program completion and restrictions on employment at child and youth-related organizations and welfare facilities for the disabled for three years.

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held a disciplinary committee last year and dismissed Mr. A.
