The Incheon Western Police Station announced today (17th) that a police officer in his 50s from Incheon Police Station, who beat his wife and broke a rib while arguing over not serving meals, was booked without detention on charges of injury.



According to the police, police officer A is charged with assaulting his 50-year-old wife B at his home in Seo-gu, Incheon around 10 pm on the 12th and breaking her ribs.



He beat his wife while intoxicated, and the couple's family returned home around 4 p.m. the next day and called 112.



As a result of the investigation, Mr. A said that he did not prepare her meals, and that she was arguing with Mr. B and assaulted him.



He was a former police officer and was promoted to a police chief, a police officer a few years ago, and was separated from Mr. B after the incident.



Police also booked Mr. B without detention on charges of assault as police officer A stated that he had been assaulted by his wife.



The police will soon summon police officers A and B to further investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.



As soon as the criminal case investigation is completed, the National Police Agency, which is in charge of the inspection of officers of police officer level or higher, is known to conduct an inspection investigation against Police Officer A and decide whether to take disciplinary action.



A police official said, "We received a report and went to the scene to confirm the identity," and "We plan to investigate further specific allegations."
