In October of last year, Rep. Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People's Power, exposed suspicions that former Vice Minister Kim Gyeong-sun convened a policy pledge meeting for senior officials of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and instructed them to submit materials to be used in the Democratic Party's pledges based on internal information from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

[Ha Tae-kyung/Rep. of People's Power (October of last year): There is a content that the vice minister of leisure held a meeting and ordered the development of policy promises for working-level managers and working-level managers.]

After the National Election Commission conducted its own investigation, Former Vice Minister Kim and one director of the leisure department were charged with the prosecution, and the People's Power also filed a separate complaint against former Minister Jeong Young-ae.

It was confirmed that the prosecution, which had been conducting investigations, such as raiding the Democratic Party's policy lab in November last year, recently summoned and investigated former Minister Chung Young-ae and former Vice Minister Kim as suspects.

Former Minister Jeong and former Vice Minister Kim position that it was a mid-to-long-term policy meeting that had nothing to do with their promises.

[Kim Gyeong-sun/then Vice Minister of Gender Equality and Family (November of last year): I kept saying that it was not a pledge meeting, and the essence of this meeting was a part of the mid- to long-term policy task meeting that we had been doing since April.]

Prosecutors are checking whether former Minister Jeong and former Vice Minister Kim received a request to develop a pledge from a Democratic Party official.

Prosecutors are also reported to be expanding the investigation after the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family was involved in developing the promises of the ruling party in the 2016 20th general election held by the Park Geun-hye administration and the 21st general election held by the Moon Jae-in administration in 2020.
