A large amount of white powder and syringes suspected of methamphetamine were poured out in large quantities from a household in Daegu.

According to the Daegu Suseong Police Station today (12th), a plastic bag containing about 30 g of white powder presumed to be methamphetamine and 10 syringes for administration was found on the ceiling of a bathroom in an apartment in Suseong-gu.

Landlord A, who recently moved into this apartment, is known to have found these items while replacing a bathroom fan and reported them to the police.

A police official said, "We are investigating the people who lived here before the landlord moved in."

Melophone is a Class 2 drug designated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, causing very strong hallucinations and schizophrenia.

The 30g found this time is an amount that can be administered to 1,000 adults at the same time.

The police are conducting an investigation to confirm that the white powder ingredient is methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, on the 25th of last month, the Namhae Regional Maritime Police Agency announced that two people, including a gangster who put the remaining syringes in a plastic bag after administering methamphetamine, were arrested and sent for violating the Narcotics Management Act.

The Coast Guard launched an investigation when dozens of syringes containing methamphetamine were found in a black plastic bag caught on an angler's fishing line off the coast of Busan in early November last year.

These syringes were secretly thrown into the sea by gangster B (in their 50s) and acquaintance C in a plastic bag with stones to destroy evidence.

As drug crimes are reported through the media every day, experts are pointing out that Korea is no longer a drug-free country.

In particular, the number of drug offenders under the age of 19 increased by 43.8% compared to 2020 and 278.2% from 4 years ago to 450 in 2021.
