How many red days will there be on the calendar for next year?

Unfortunately, workers who are subject to the five-day work week will have two fewer days off next year than this year.

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced yesterday (12th) the '2023 Monthly Calendar Essentials', which is the standard for producing next year's calendar.

According to the announcement, public holidays marked in red on next year's calendar are 67 days in total, including Sundays, national holidays, and New Year's Day.

Originally, it was 69 days, but January 1, the first day of the new year, and January 22, the Lunar New Year, overlapped with Sundays, giving them two days.

A five-day worker can take 116 days off in total by adding Saturdays to this holiday.

This was originally 119 days, but the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, Buddha's birthday, and the third day of the Chuseok holiday overlapped with Saturday, reducing three days.

Two days less than this year.

The longest holidays next year are the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, each with four days off.

This year, because the Lunar New Year's Day was a Tuesday, I was able to rest for five days in a row, but next year there will be no five-day holidays.
