It is revealed that Chun (53, deceased), a suspect in the arson case at the Daegu lawyer's office, which killed seven people, was dissatisfied with losing money in an apartment development project and losing a series of lawsuits.

In particular, he lost in a civil case held about an hour before the crime, following being convicted of a criminal offense the day before.

According to court rulings, in 2013, Mr. Chun made an investment agreement with a developer of a new residential and commercial apartment complex in Suseong-gu, and invested 680 million won in total.

However, when the development project did not go as planned, Mr. Chun filed a lawsuit against the developer (corporation) and the CEO, asking for an investment of 530 million won and delay damages after subtracting some returned money.

As a result of the trial, it was determined that only the developer was obligated to pay the investment and delay damages to Mr. Chun, and the claim against the CEO of the developer was dismissed.

However, when the developer did not pay Mr. Chun, Mr. Chun filed a lawsuit against the CEO of the developer and lost the contract as a result.

At this time, the lawyer who served as the representative of the developer was a person who worked in the office that caught fire on the 9th.

He was on a business trip at the time, so he avoided his anger.

Since then, as Mr. Chun appealed again, the appeal trial has been ongoing since the end of last year.

In the meantime, Mr. Chun was sued online for slandering the CEO of the company and was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won on the 8th, the day before the crime.

Also, on the day of the crime, we lost in the appeals court in a lawsuit asking for a refund of about 590 million won against a trustee and co-operator of the residential and commercial apartment building project.

After this unfavorable trial, Mr. Chun appears to have become dissatisfied with his opponent's lawyer, who defended his key case.

On the 9th, the day of the crime, he left the house for the first time according to the trial schedule in the morning and returned home after the trial.

According to closed circuit (CC) TV, Chun got into the car at 10:47 am after loading something covered with a white cloth in his car from the rented apartment, which is about a 15-minute walk from the scene of the incident.

Then, at about 10:53 a.m., he entered the second floor of the Justice Building with this object, went to the crime scene, room 203, and caught fire in 23 seconds.

The official time of the incident is 10:55 am.

It took 8 minutes for them to leave the house with the tools of the crime and set the fire.

A total of 7 people, including one lawyer, 5 employees, and Mr. Chun himself, were killed in the fire, and 50 people, including residents of the same building, were injured by smoke inhalation.

The flammable material used in the crime was confirmed to be gasoline, and a weapon believed to have stabbed two victims was also found at the scene.

It is estimated that both arson and weapon riots occurred in a short period of about 20 seconds.

A police official said, "It seems that the loss of the trial right before the crime led to the intention of committing a crime."

As a result of the police investigation around Mr. Chun, it is known that he was under a lot of stress due to a lawsuit to return the contract.

Chun, based in Daejeon, moved to Daegu alone during the lawsuit and lived in a five-story apartment in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, on a monthly basis.

The average rent for this apartment is known to be about 200,000 won per month with a deposit of 5 million won.
