Technology Microsoft Edge can now import settings and open tabs from Chrome
In the coming months,
Microsoft
will begin offering a new cloud gaming service, but unlike its subscription product,
Game Pass
, this one will allow you to play games purchased directly from the
Xbox
Store .
This means that users will have access to the titles in their
game library
without the need to install them on the machine they are playing on, including
mobile phones, PCs or tablets
, and without the need to pay a monthly subscription service.
At first, the
new feature
will only be available in some games, but
Microsoft
's idea is to gradually expand the catalog of compatible titles.
This service is an important boost to
the cloud gaming
strategy , in which the games run on a remote server and, therefore, do not require a very powerful
local machine
(PC or console).
The
Game Pass
service already offered this experience as a complement to downloading games, but it is a limited catalog that changes every month and has a
fixed cost
.
Other companies, such as
or Nvidia, also offer the possibility of playing games purchased in the cloud, without the need to install them on a local machine.
In the case of
Google,
it is only about those purchased within the Stadia service.
Nvidia, on the other hand, allows you to link the library of the Steam or Epic Game Store
digital stores
and play previously purchased titles, although with a time limit if the monthly subscription service is not used.
Microsoft
's commitment
will also be complemented by a boost to demo versions of games, also in the cloud.
Codenamed Project Moorcroft,
Microsoft
is preparing a platform for developers large and small to publish
beta versions
and demos of their games and be compensated for the time players spend playing them.
An app for Samsung TVs
In addition to this new service,
Microsoft
is also preparing an application for Samsung televisions that will give access to the
Game Pass
service and games available in the cloud without a subscription, such as Fortnite.
This app will allow you to play games
remotely
using a remote control connected by Bluetooth to the television and will be available from June 30.
