Kim Mo, a 7th-grade civil servant at the Gangdong-gu Office in Seoul, accused of embezzling 11.5 billion won in public funds, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the first trial.



The 12th Criminal Settlement of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Chief Judge Lee Jong-chae) is charged with a total of five charges including violation of the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement); sentenced to 10 years in prison for Mr.



He also ordered Kim to collect about 7.6 billion won.



Kim is accused of embezzling 11.5 billion won from the Seoul Metropolitan City Housing Corporation (SH) deposited with the Gangdong-gu Office from December 2019 to February last year, and using it to invest in stocks and pay personal debts.



Kim returned 3.8 billion won of the 11.5 billion won he embezzled, and most of the remaining 7.7 billion won was lost through stock investment.
