A woman in her 40s was stabbed to death in a villa in Gyeonggi-do.

The victim was constantly being stalked by the perpetrator and was receiving safety measures.

Correspondent Kim Ji-wook reported.

A body emerges from the building.

Shortly thereafter, a man on a stretcher is taken to an ambulance.

At around 10:30 am today (the 8th), a man A in his 60s killed a woman B in his 40s in a multi-family house in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do.

Mr. A stabbed Mr. B in the abdomen at the entrance here, and then she entered the house.

A was caught by the police while attempting to self-harm at home.

[Witness: It was a woman screaming, and there was a lot of bleeding.]

Mr. B, who moved in at the end of last year, had a romantic relationship with Mr. A, who lived in the same building, and was stalked after breaking up in April.

Last month, Mr. A sent a series of threatening messages saying "I will not leave it alone" and a smart watch was given to Mr. B. Yesterday afternoon, Mr. A threatened Mr. B from the hallway, and the police were dispatched.

According to the relevant law, the police can take 'prohibition of access within 100m' or 'prohibition of access using telecommunications' as an emergency emergency measure for stalking actors.

[Seung Jae-hyun/Korea Criminal Justice Policy Research Fellow: If you live in the same apartment, you are always within the 100-meter restricted area.

It is a moment that is practically useless.]

Although there are emergency measures to temporarily lock in a detention center, the police judged that it was unnecessary in yesterday's situation.

The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for murder and other charges as soon as treatment for the arrested Mr. A is finished.
