In the midst of this, a personnel information management group under the direct control of the Minister of Justice was launched on behalf of the Office of Civil Politics to verify candidates for high-ranking public officials.

There was also a concern that a lot of former prosecutors could go to this place, and although a public official from the Ministry of Personnel Management decided to take the lead, prosecutors, who are considered so-called close associates of the president, were also assigned to key positions below that.

The management team, which consists of 13 dispatched personnel including the police and the National Tax Service, and 3 prosecutors, a total of 17 people, decided not to report interim reports to the Minister to ensure independence.

Even with these measures, there are still concerns about whether it will be possible to be completely free from the influence of the 'Yun Seok-Yeol Division'.

Prosecutor Lee Dong-gyun was appointed as the 1st Personnel Information Officer who will oversee the verification in the social field.

Prosecutor Lee went through the hearing preparation team and the presidential transition committee during President Yoon's candidacy for president.

Two other prosecutors dispatched to the management team also went through the transition.

The so-called Yun Seok-yeol division is involved from the first gate of verification.

Lee Seong-do, head of the evaluation department of the Office of Government Policy Coordination, was appointed as the Personnel Information 2 Officer, who collects and verifies economic information such as property and tax payment history.

The first target of verification is expected to be the successor of National Police Commissioner Kim Chang-ryong, who will end his term on the 23rd of next month.

It is still controversial whether even high-ranking judges, such as Supreme Court Justices, should be verified.
