Today (4th) around 12:30 noon, a fire of unknown cause broke out in a furniture storage warehouse in Jingwan-dong, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.

[Witness: It looked like a fire was exploding, so black smoke continued to rise as the fire went up.

When I looked at it, it looked like a factory area in the distance, but I was surprised.]

Four warehouses were engulfed in flames, and the 'Response Stage 1' was issued, in which all personnel and equipment from the fire department were dispatched.

The fire department believes that the fire started in the largest warehouse and has spread to nearby warehouses, and is investigating the exact size of damage and the cause of the fire.

The forest authorities put out two fire-fighting helicopters and put out the fire in about an hour.

The forestry authorities saw that the fire had spread to the mountain while a villager was burning agricultural plastic with a torch, and urged special attention to handling fire until the 19th, a special period for forest fires.
