A wife who secretly installed a location tracking app on her husband's cell phone to secure evidence of an affair was sentenced to probation in prison.

The Chuncheon District Court sentenced Mr. A in his 50s to 6 months in prison and 1 year of probation for violating the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information.

In 2019, Mr. A secretly installed a location tracking app on her husband's phone to find out where her husband was.

In April of last year, I secretly recorded phone calls between my husband and his girlfriend using the cell phone recording function.

It is known that Mr. A committed this kind of crime to secure evidence that her husband had an affair.

The court said, "The guilt of infringing the privacy and freedom of the victim's privacy, such as collecting the location of the husband secretly and recording phone calls, is not light." The sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that it was not leaked.”
