An outbreak of African swine fever occurred at a pig farm in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do.



The Central Accident Response Headquarters is conducting quarantine measures such as epidemiological investigations on farms with swine fever.



In addition, to prevent the spread of swine fever, 1,500 pigs raised on the farm will be culled.



Authorities are conducting urgent close-up inspections on 15 pig farms in Hongcheon-gun.



In addition, we have issued an order to temporarily suspend movement of pig farms, slaughterhouses and feed factories in Gyeonggi and Gangwon regions until 6:30 pm on the 28th.



Prime Minister Han Deok-soo instructed related ministers, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Ministry of Environment, to do everything possible to prevent the outbreak of swine fever in the first place.
