Yesterday (19th) around 8:50 PM, an explosion occurred at S-OIL's Ulsan plant in the Onsan Industrial Complex in Ulju-gun, Ulsan.

In the accident, one employee of the subcontractor was killed, five were injured, and four employees of the main office were also injured and transported to the hospital.

Most of them are burn patients, and six seriously injured have been transported to a Busan local burn hospital for treatment.

The fire department has issued a 'response second stage' that mobilizes all personnel and equipment from the adjacent fire department, and is working on firefighting by deploying about 60 fire engines.

It is said that the flames soared when an explosion began during an alkylation extraction process, a gasoline additive.

It is said that the impact was so great that even residents living in an area 10 kilometers away at the time of the explosion could feel the roar and vibration.

The fire department predicted that it would take some time for the fire to be completely extinguished, as it was difficult to extinguish due to the intense flames and high heat.
