A court sentenced a 20-year-old man who tried to murder a college classmate he lived with for ignoring him.

Today (17th), Chuncheon District Court's Gangneung Branch Criminal Division 2 (Chief Judge Lee Dong-hee) announced that A (25), who was charged with attempted murder, was sentenced to three years in prison.

Person A was handed over to trial on the 4th of January on the charge of trying to kill friend B (24) who fell asleep in a villa in Ponam-dong, Gangneung-si around 11 am.

Earlier, on the same day, at about 1 am, Mr. A returned to the house where he was living with his college classmate B, turned on the light and ate.

Mr. B, who was sleeping at the time, gave a pin to Mr. A and threw a cigarette butt because he woke up from his sleep, and Mr. A, angry at this, committed a crime using his weapon.

After the crime, Mr. A monitored Mr. B not to leave the crime scene for more than 7 hours.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that they had been together for several months, but had frequent quarrels due to their different lifestyles.

In particular, Mr. A was usually dissatisfied with his disrespectful attitude such as insulting and ignoring Mr. B, even though he borrowed money from internet gambling funds.

In response, the court pointed out to Mr. A, "After the crime, the victim was monitored so that the victim did not leave the crime scene, and the risk of death was very high." We decided on the sentence based on the reasons behind the sentencing,” he explained.
