Police arrested a 40-year-old man who broke the window of a parked car and stole money inside.
Daejeon Jungbu Police Station announced today (17th) that they had arrested a man in his 40s on charges of special theft, etc.
Person A is charged with smashing the windows of 8 taxis and 1 car parked in Jung-gu and Seo-gu, Daejeon for two days from the 8th, and stealing 6 million won worth of cash and precious metals inside.
Person A was found to have committed theft while riding a stolen truck (worth 14 million won) two days before the crime.
He was previously released from prison in March after serving a sentence for a similar crime.

Person A is known to have stated in the police investigation, "I did it to go back to prison."
A police official said, "We plan to hand over Mr. A to the prosecution within tomorrow," and said, "To prevent crime, do not leave cash or other valuables in the vehicle, and if damage occurs, please report it to the police immediately."
