Instagram boss Adam Mosseri announced on Monday that NFTs could be shared on the social network this week.
For now, only a handful of American creators and collectors will be able to share these NFTs on their feed, their stories and even their messaging, indicates
BFM Crypto
.
First tested by a small community, this feature will then be expanded in a “wider” way
,
as stated by Adam Mosseri, according to whom “the creator economy is incredibly important for Instagram”
.
As a reminder, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are unique digital titles of ownership associated with a digital asset such as a photo, video, etc.
NFTs on Instagram 🎉
This week we're beginning to test digital collectibles with a handful of US creators and collectors who will be able to share NFTs on Instagram.
There will be no fees associated with posting or sharing a digital collectible on IG.
See you next week!

A completely free feature
According to
CoinDesk
media , which specializes in digital currencies, Instagram should support NFTs from four blockains: Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and Flow.
No one knows yet if all of these blockchains, which constitute a technology for storing and transmitting information, will be usable as soon as this feature, which is also free, is launched.
Unlike Twitter, Instagram has actually decided to offer the posting or sharing of NFTs for free.
“There will be no costs associated with posting or sharing an NFT on Instagram,” assured Adam Mosseri.
A decision that could be a turning point in the world of NFTs and in particular for the Meta group, the parent company of Instagram led by Mark Zuckerberg created to become a "metaverse company".
