All of the payments on the Chinese platform were for an influencer named Ohidur247.

Despite numerous refund requests sent to Apple, the American firm took a long time to respond.

The mother of the family, she considered herself in her right.

Her child, who is autistic, has “learning difficulties” according to her testimony.

No parental filter activated

Realizing that she was getting nothing from Apple, the Briton contacted the legal department of the American firm.

But that didn't change anything.

According to her, Apple made a mistake.

"I think Apple let me down by failing to identify unusual activity on my account and protect me by blocking suspicious payments," she said.

However, according to the first elements of the investigation, the mother made the mistake of not activating parental controls, which could have prevented these compulsive purchases.

For its part, TikTok assured that the influencer concerned had not broken the rules of the platform to obtain these payments from the girl.

Thanks to the media coverage of her story, the mother of the family was finally able to obtain a refund.
