You must have felt that some motorcycles are dangerous when driving or walking on the street.

It is not easy to crack down on the police because they disappear so quickly, but thanks to the citizens who report it with a smartphone or a black box, they say that they are seeing the effect of the crackdown.

It is a road in Gangnam, Seoul.

It is noticeable that the traffic lights are broken less than three minutes after watching the moving motorcycles.

There are motorcycles running at the crosswalk, regardless of whether people are crossing it or whether it is a blue or red light.

Even after running on the sidewalk, barely passing pedestrians, and watching in one spot for an hour, more than 20 motorcycles were found violating traffic laws.

[Kim Joo-hwan / Bucheon, Gyeonggi: The motorcycle is also very fast, so it is difficult to avoid it when it suddenly jumps out...

[Motorcycle accident victim's family: Delivery motorcycles are too frequent, and it's a road that shouldn't be passed, but the bottom (sidewalk block) broke and my mother stumbled and fell at dawn...

.]

However, even if the law is violated, it disappears quickly and is not easy to crack down on, so the authorities have started to fill this difficulty with some citizens.

The Traffic Safety Authority and the National Police Agency have been operating a public interest reporting team with 11,000 citizens since two years ago, and over 234,000 reports have been received.

From signal violations, sidewalk violations, and center line violations.

If it is taken for 3 seconds with a smartphone or vehicle black box, up to 20 cases are recognized per month.

[Song Kyung-jin / Police Department Traffic Safety Officer: Since we are judging violations, the length of the video is not important, and when the violation is confirmed and the date of violation is confirmed, it depends on it…

.]

The Traffic Safety Authority and the police plan to continue intensive crackdowns across the country this month, expecting that the number of motorcycle accidents will increase as the distance ends and the weather improves.
