A carrier is approaching the pier.

Unable to turn, it collides with a pier facility, and some of the facilities fall into the sea.

The crash occurred on the morning of the 21st of last month in Yeongheungdo, Incheon.

The vessel is an 87,795 ton class coal carrier, and is in charge of the Greek national, captain A in his 60s.

The Incheon Maritime Police Station is investigating and detaining pilot B without detention, who caused a collision with A on charges of destroying a ship due to negligence.

They are accused of damaging the pier of the Yeongheung Thermal Power Plant in Yeongheung-do, Ongjin-gun, Incheon around 7:50 a.m. on the 21st of last month.

The Coast Guard believes they collided with unloading equipment and ship mooring facilities while docking the carrier at the dock to unload coal.

No human casualties occurred.

However, the berthing facility was damaged, causing property damage estimated at 10 billion won by the Coast Guard.

The captain and the pilot did not report the accident separately, but were caught by the Coast Guard who obtained intelligence.

A Coast Guard investigation revealed that the vessel was speeding at the time of the accident.

A person in charge of the Coast Guard said, "We first investigated the foreign captain who was about to depart, and the pilot will be summoned for investigation soon."
