The body of a 30-year-old woman was discovered Tuesday at her home in Yvelines.

Her partner, suspected of being the cause of her death, was arrested and placed in police custody.

Traces of strangulation and wounds to the head and mouth were found on the victim and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

A 27-year-old man suspected of having killed his partner in the Yvelines was arrested and placed in police custody on Tuesday, a police source and the prosecution said on Wednesday.

The body of the young woman, aged 30, was discovered on Tuesday at her home in Coignières (Yvelines).

Traces of strangulation and wounds in the head and mouth were found on the victim, explained a police source.

Autopsy scheduled for Thursday

Present in the apartment at the time of the discovery of the body by the police, the spouse was arrested and placed in police custody, according to this source.

Police custody was still ongoing on Wednesday, the Versailles prosecutor's office said, adding that an autopsy would take place on Thursday to determine the cause of death.

The investigation, opened for spousal homicide, was entrusted to the Trappes police station.
